There are some great beards out there. And terrible ones. Check out these beard dos and don’ts to make sure you’re in the win column. First the DOs:
1. Trim – The first rule of beard club is keep it
trimmed. Don’t just reach into the drawer and grab scissors but invest
in a high quality beard trimmer. The defined length settings will ensure
every hair is the same clean cut length.
Depending on how the beard comes in, outline it from the ear to the
corner of the lip but keep it natural without any distinct lines. Clean
up the cheeks and below the chin if necessary.
2. Condition – Beard hair is coarse and can get
scratchy. Stay kissably soft by conditioning your beard with your
regular conditioner dedicated product from Bluebeards, Jenulence, or Beardsley.
3. Consider Your Haircut – The beard should work with your hairstyle rather that dominate the face. This isn’t to say that beards can’t be worn with shaved heads but that requires an extra trimmed look. It’s all about balance.
